Send money quickly and securely

When speed is of the essence, a wire transfer lets you transfer money from your account to an account at another financial institution quickly and securely.

How quickly? Most domestic wire transfers sent before 3 pm (ET) are received the same day (international transfers can take longer depending on the country). And there's typically no "hold" placed on wire transfers, which means the recipient has faster access to their money.

To request a wire transfer

Setting up a wire transfer is as easy as visiting your nearest TCU Service Center (please make sure you have a photo ID with you). If you have previously set up a wire transfer through TCU, you can call Member Services at (800) 552-4745. Here's what you'll need:

  • Transfer details
    • Amount
    • Desired transfer date
    • Currency to be received (if international transfer)
    • Any additional transfer instructions
Payee's Information
  • Name
  • Address*
  • Financial institution's
    • Name
    • Address
    • Routing (ABA) number**
    • For international transfers
      • Country
      • SWIFT code**
      • Intermediary bank SWIFT code**
  • Account number and type (checking, savings, etc., ...)

* P.O. boxes are not allowed.
** These will be provided by the receiving financial institution.

Receiving a wire transfer?

It's easy. All you need to do is provide the same details provided under Payee's Information above to the person or organization wiring you the funds. TCU's routing (ABA) number is 271291826.

Your wire transfer will be processed as soon as we receive it. If it's received by 4:30 pm (ET) it will be posted to your account that day. Transfers received after 4:30 pm will be posted the next business day.
